More About Mrs. Weaver
My name is Glenna Weaver and I have been a teacher at Butler Elementary School for twenty-eight years. I have teaching experience in grades kindergarten through fifth. Fourth grade is my favorite!
I was raised in Butler from the time I was three-years-old. My father, Nelson Cairl, taught fifth grade for 32 years. His example is what influenced me to become a teacher. I knew from the time that I was in third grade that I wanted to be a teacher.
I graduated from Eastside High School in 1976. I received my undergraduate degree from Fort Wayne Bible College (now Taylor University). I had a double major: elementary education and Bible. After teaching kindergarten for three years in Illinois, I moved back to Butler, where I have taught ever since. I graduated from the University of Saint Francis with a Masters Degree in special education.
I have been married to my best friend, John, since 1996. We have two beautiful daughters, both adopted from Guatemala. Marta is a junior at EHS and Jahnna is a seventh grader. We have one dog and two cats.
I am an avid reader. I enjoy music, both listening and performing. I play board games as often as I can, and I’m a great spectator at sporting events. I like finding new diet recipes and trying them out on my family. I’m a bargain shopper with my favorite stops being Good Will, The Salvation Army Store, and flea markets. I collect elephant knickknacks, snowmen, and bells.
I encourage parent involvement in my classroom. You are always welcome! I am available to speak via the phone at 868-2123, ext. 2507, between 7:45 a.m. - 8:20 a.m. and between 2:50 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. My home phone is 868-5478. If calling my home, please do not call after 10:00 p.m.
